Typhoon Haiyan: a message from AAPM&R

The leadership and staff of American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) extend our sympathies to the people of the Philipines as the country recovers from the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan. We have been contacted by members and service organizations alike asking us to share humanitarian aid resources during this Thanksgiving season. Here are a few:

  •  Academy member Paul Sueno, MD, President elect of the Philippine American Physiatrist Association (PAPA), and ISPRM endorse the aid efforts of the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM).
  • Academy member Romil Martinez, MD, President of PARM has shared the following fund for contributions:

Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine

Dollar Account 109-80-00042-2

  • The American Red Cross has a Typhoon Appeal established for the Philippines.
  • Doctors Without Borders/Médecins sans Frontières has an Emergency Response Fund. These funds will be used in the Philippines, or in the event that this response if fully funded, used for future emergency responses like this one.
