ASIA Primary Care Guidelines

The American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) announces a new web-based resource to help you manage your patients with spinal cord injury/spinal cord dysfunction (SCI/D) and diseases.

The majority of primary care providers find managing issues related to spinal cord injury daunting (1). Providers are faced with the challenges of treating secondary complications of SCI in health care systems facing increasingly limited resources with regards to patient access to medical care, and provider access to educational and practice support.

This web-based, quick access, free resource allows you to find the information you need quickly and in real time. These resources were developed and curated especially for primary care providers and their patients with SCI.

The ASIA Primary Care Committee, together with the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals (ASCIP) is composed of a broad group of primary care clinicians, SCI specialists, consumers with SCI, researchers, and other SCI stakeholders. Our mission is to advance primary care delivery and services for people with SCI through education, interprofessional collaboration and provision of resources to bridge gaps in care.
