ISPRM participated as an invited professional organization in a webinar organized by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) on the topic of “Rehabilitation Considerations During the COVID-19 Outbreak“. Other participants included member states and rehabilitation professionals. In addition to ISPRM, representatives of the World Federation of Occupational Therapy and the World Council of Physical Therapy made presentations. ISPRM was represented by Immediate Past-President Walter R. Frontera.

The webinar was coordinated by Antony Duttine, advisor in disabilities and rehabilitation of the PAHO/WHO and presented twice, once in English and then in Spanish. Several experts from Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Guyana, Brazil, Chile, and El Salvador shared their research, experiences, and recommendations on the importance of rehabilitation for patients with this condition. The webinar was also an opportunity to launch the PAHO official document with the same title as the webinar.
