Physical Activity & Disability SIG: Prof. Abderrazak Hajjioui Outlines Priorities at ISPRM25

At the ISPRM25 World Congress in Marrakesh, Prof. Abderrazak Hajjioui presented the key priorities and next steps for the Physical Activity & Disability Special Interest Group (SIG), summarizing the group’s current focus and future direction.

Prof. Hajjioui explained that the SIG is working to strengthen its internal structure and transition from a task force into a fully organized Special Interest Group. «We try to organize the governance of this specific interest group moving from task force to a specific interest group» .

A central goal of the group is to advance initiatives that promote physical activity for persons with disabilities: «and to plan for new projects in order to promote physical activity with persons with disabilities» .

The SIG is also preparing to contribute scientifically to the field. As Prof. Hajjioui stated, the group intends «to publish some papers about this and establish some recommendations» .

Looking ahead to ISPRM 2026 in Vancouver, the SIG plans to continue its active presence within the Congress programme. «We hope that we will be present strongly in the next Congress in Vancouver. And we will organize, as usual, many workshops and sessions» he noted .

Finally, Prof. Hajjioui extended an open invitation to all ISPRM members interested in physical activity and disability: «We hope that we will have more and more members. So, we invite all the ISPRM members who are interested by physical activity and disability to join our specific interest group» .

Through these priorities—strengthening governance, promoting physical activity, preparing publications and recommendations, and organizing future workshops—the SIG reaffirms its commitment to advancing rehabilitation for persons with disabilities within ISPRM.
