ISPRM SPASTICITY SIG – Journal Club of Historical Papers: Deconstructing Ashworth’s Paper with Professor Anand Pandyan

As part of the activities of the ISPRM Spasticity SIG, we are pleased to invite you to a special Journal Club of Historical Papers session featuring Professor Anand Pandyan.

This one-hour session will focus on the original 1964 paper by Ashworth describing the now-famous scale—an article widely cited but rarely read in depth. The discussion will critically analyze the paper and place it within the context of current scientific knowledge and contemporary understanding of spasticity assessment.
