2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum – ISPRM SIDE EVENT

| The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) continues to build momentum toward achieving the 2030 Agenda amid persistent global challenges—from growing poverty and rising inequalities to fast‑moving crises and conflicts that are increasing pressures on multilateralism. |
| In April 2026, ECOSOC will organize its Youth Forum by bringing together young people, Member States, the UN system, and other partners to exchange ideas, showcase innovative solutions, and strengthen youth engagement in accelerating progress on the SDGs. |
We invite you all to participate at:
“The intersection of healthcare and inequities in younger people with disabilities”
an online Side event organized by ISPRM – April 15, 2026: 8:00 – 9:15 AM (Eastern/NYC Time)
The session will focus on how these intersecting disadvantages influence health outcomes, participation, education, employment, mobility, independence, and community inclusion among younger people with disabilities. It will highlight how exclusion from healthcare systems is not an isolated issue, but part of a broader pattern of inequity that limits opportunities across the life course and undermines sustainable development. Particular attention will be given to the need for youth-responsive, disability-inclusive, and rights-based approaches that move beyond fragmented service delivery toward coordinated action across sectors.
