ISPRM turns 18 today – Your chance to win free registration for the Paris Congress
ISPRM celebrates its 18th birthday today, 13 November 2017!
The International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) is the result of the merger of the International Rehabilitation Medicine Association (IRMA) and the International Federation of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (IFPM&R). The merger was accomplished and ISPRM formed on 13 November, 1999. Professor John Melvin, still an active member of ISPRM today, and Chair of the Statutes Committee, served as the first President of ISPRM.
More information on ISPRM’s history can be found here >>
ISPRM aims to continuously improve PRM practice and facilitate PRM input in international health organisations with the goal to contribute to optimal functioning and quality of life for people experiencing disability. Since its foundation ISPRM has been increasingly successful in achieving its mission, with its emergence as the pre-eminent international scientific and educational society for practitioners in the field of PRM and its evolving policy role in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations (UN).
Today, ISPRM has 55 active national society members representing almost 35,000 members.
