SUMMARY:The 50th Anniversary Meeting and International Conference of the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (KARM 2022)
DESCRIPTION:This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (KARM) in January 1972. The KARM was able to develop into a leading academy representing Asia thanks to the dedication and efforts of the seniors who led the founding of the academy and our members for their active participation and striving for excellence. In particular, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the members for their devotion to the advances in rehabilitation medicine and our academy while under difficult circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years.\n\nThe 50th Anniversary Meeting and International Conference of the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (KARM 2022) will be held at Grand Hyatt Incheon from October 28 to 29. Under the theme, ‘KARM 50th Anniversary – A Proud Legacy for the Future,’ KARM 2022 will illuminate the footsteps of our past 50 years, celebrate our achievements, and hold the mission and vision proclamation ceremony. In the plenary session, lectures will be held under the theme of “International Cooperation for the Advancement of Rehabilitation Medicine in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and Aging Society,” by AOSPRM President Reynaldo R. Rey-Matia, ISPRM President-elect Francesca Gimigliano, and KARM President Moon Suk Bang. In this session, we will discuss how to lead international cooperation and strengthen relations among nations to foster innovation in rehabilitation medicine in the era of the 4th industrial revolution and aging society.
