SUMMARY:The 8th IEEE International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics
DESCRIPTION:The 8th IEEE International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics – BioRob2020 –  joint effort of IEEE Robotics and Automation – RAS – and Engineering in Medicine and Biology – EMBS.\n 29 November to 01 December 2020\nhttps://biorob2020nyc.org/ ( https://biorob2020nyc.org/ )\nBioRob covers both theoretical and experimental challenges posed by the application of robotics and mechatronics in medicine and biology. The primary focus of Biorobotics is to analyze biological systems from a “biomechatronic” point of view, trying to understand the scientific and engineering principles underlying their extraordinary performance. This profound understanding of how biological systems work, behave, and interact can be used for two main objectives: to guide the design and fabrication of novel, high performance bio-inspired machines and systems for many different applications; and to develop novel nano-, micro-, and macro- devices that can act upon, substitute parts of, and assist human beings in prevention, diagnosis, surgery, prosthetics, rehabilitation, and personal assistance.\nThe technical program of IEEE BioRob2020 will include invited talks, contributed paper sessions, workshops and tutorials, contributed posters, late breaking results poster sessions, continuing medical credits (CME), exhibitions, and more. Papers cover areas of Biorobotics and Biomechatronics, including:\n\nRobotics and Rehabilitation\nBiologically Inspired Robotics\nRobotic Surgery\nHuman Machine Interaction\nWearable Technologies\nBrain Machine Interface\nRobotics in Ageing\nRobotic Companions and Home Care\nHuman Augmentation\nMicro Robotics\nNano Robotics\n\nThanks to the generous support from our sponsors, the organizing committee has decided to make attendance to keynote, workshops, and presentation sessions completely free of charge with one exception noted below. In this way, we hope to encourage a broad participation from the international robotics community and make BioRob2020 a success. Registration for the virtual conference are required. Registered attendees will receive separate emails including login information for conference event. The detailed conference program can be found at https://biorob2020nyc.org/ ( https://biorob2020nyc.org/ ) .\nNote: if you require CMEs, there is an associated fee of $100 which will be processed through PaperPlaza. We can only accept credit card payments.\nSincerely,\nSunil K. Agrawal, General Chair – Columbia University\nHermano Igo Krebs, General Co-Chair – MIT\n\n \n \n \n \n
