SUMMARY:Meeting – Development of National Lung Cancer Rehabilitation Guidelines in Morocco
DESCRIPTION:At the 4th International Congress of Thoracic Oncology\nmore info: https://www.facebook.com/ChifaeCancerologie/ ( https://www.facebook.com/ChifaeCancerologie/ )\n \nLung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality in Morocco\nand worldwide. While advances in diagnosis and treatment have improved survival, many\nindividuals living with lung cancer continue to experience substantial impairments in\nfunctioning, activity limitations, participation restrictions, and reduced quality of life.\nDespite strong international evidence supporting rehabilitation as an essential component of\ncancer care, rehabilitation services remain insufficiently integrated into lung cancer pathways in\nMorocco. Currently, no national guidelines exist to support healthcare professionals in\nidentifying rehabilitation needs, referring patients appropriately, and delivering evidence-based\nrehabilitation interventions throughout the cancer continuum.\nThis initiative proposes the development of the first National Lung Cancer Rehabilitation\nGuidelines in Morocco, using internationally recognized methodologies, including the WHO\nPackage of Interventions for Rehabilitation, GRADE recommendations, and Delphi consensus\nprocesses.\nThe initiative will be officially launched during the 4th International Congress of Thoracic\nOncology in Fez and aims to establish a national roadmap for integrating rehabilitation into lung\ncancer care.\n \ncontacts:\nProf. Abderrazak Hajjioui, MD, MPM, PhD\nChair, Scientific committee\nAbdelmalek Essaâdi University, Tangier, Morocco\nProf. Nawfel Mellas, MD\nChair, 4th International Congress of Thoracic Oncology\nSidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University\nFez, Morocco\n
